Hey gang!
I’m off on vacation to the UK for a couple weeks taking in some much needed rest after creating two comics and being a part of two Kickstarters so far this year.
But my holiday is my your gain!
The next 19 days, my Patreon Pals will be getting an exclusive, never before seen, first attempt at what would eventually become The Canon of Vangel!
Created way back in 2008, it was originally envisioned as Cops meets Buffy The Vampire Slayer, following around a team of modern day Paladins and the scenarios they have to deal with. Originally created as a submission to TokyoPop’s Rising Stars of Manga contest. It was rejected and I understand why. I had a lot to learn about lettering and my style wasn’t quite fully developed yet. Still, the seeds of Vangel are there, and I think I’ve ultimately cooked up a much better series now that it’s had a chance to marinate for another couple decades.
Author: Nathan The Lueth
https://www.nathanluethillustration.com Nathan Lueth came into existence with a pencil in his hand, a feat which continues to confound obstetricians to this day. No one knows for sure when he started drawing or where his love of comics came from, but most experts agree that his professional career began after graduating from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design as a caricaturist in the Mall of America.
Now a 16 year veteran freelance illustrator, cartoonist, and graphic novelist, Nathan has pleased clients and publishers of all sizes. He's worked with Target, General Mills, Inverse Press, Wannabe Press, Writers of the Round Table Press and drawn countless thousands of caricatures at fairs across the midwest.
He is the co-creator of Impure Blood, a Victorian-flavored epic fantasy graphic novel series, has raised over $50,000 on Kickstarter, written and illustrated short stories for all three Cthulhu Is Hard to Spell comic anthologies, and his new series, The Canon of Vangel, launches in May 2022!
When life and limitations demand that he not draw for a bit, he enjoys reading, over-analyzing movies, martial arts, and goofing off with his two amazing daughters.
